Pregnancy, Stress & Your Nervous System

Youre doing your best.

And some days, pregnancy can feel like a lot.

Between the physical changes, the emotions, the unknowns, and everything else life brings—its not always easy to just relax,” no matter how many times you hear it.

If youve been feeling overwhelmed or carrying more stress than usual, youre not alone.

Your Experience Matters More Than You Think

During pregnancy, your body and your baby are deeply connected in so many ways.

Your nervous system plays a big role in how you adapt to stress, rest, and recover—and it also helps shape the environment your baby is growing in.

This doesnt mean you need to be perfectly calm all the time (thats not realistic). But it does mean that supporting your own nervous system can have a meaningful impact on both you and your baby.

Why Nervous System Support Matters

When your body is able to shift into a more calm, regulated state, it supports:

  • Better rest and sleep
  • Improved energy and resilience
  • A greater sense of ease in your body
  • A more balanced internal environment for your baby

On the other hand, when your system is under constant stress, it can be harder for your body to fully relax and recharge.

Over time, this can leave you feeling depleted—and make pregnancy feel more overwhelming than it needs to be.

A Gentle, Supportive Approach

At Spark Chiropractic Studio, we focus on supporting your nervous system so your body can adapt more easily through each stage of pregnancy.

With advanced post-graduate training in prenatal care, including Webster Technique certification, Dr. Whitney provides gentle, specific care designed to support pelvic balance and nervous system function.

Care is always tailored to you—meeting your body where its at and helping you feel more supported, more at ease, and more connected throughout your pregnancy.

Small Shifts Can Make a Big Difference

You dont need a perfectly stress-free pregnancy to support your baby.

Sometimes, its about creating small moments of calm.

Helping your body feel safe.

Giving your nervous system space to reset.

When your system feels more regulated, it can positively influence how you feel day to day—and help create a more supportive environment for your growing baby.

Youre Not Alone in This

If youve been feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or just looking for a different kind of support, youre not alone—and you dont have to navigate it on your own.

Were here to support you every step of the way.

✨ Because when your nervous system feels supported, both you and your baby can thrive. ✨

Dr. Whitney Ohlund

Hon.B.Kin, D.C.

Dr. Whitney is passionate about helping families feel their best by supporting the nervous system—the foundation of how we heal, adapt, and thrive.

As a second-generation chiropractor, care has always been a part of her life. With both parents in the profession, she received regular chiropractic care from birth—something she attributes to her own health, as well as the wellbeing of her family today.

She completed her Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology at McMaster University before going on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West in California in 2010. Following graduation, Dr. Whitney spent four years practicing in Australia before returning home to Canada to take over her father’s practice of 41 years.

Now living in Georgetown with her husband and two daughters, she feels deeply connected to the community she serves and is truly honoured to care for local families across generations.

Her approach to care is gentle, intentional, and rooted in connection. She believes that true health isn’t just about symptom relief—it’s about creating balance in the body so it can function the way it was designed to.

With advanced training in neurologically-focused chiropractic techniques, as well as multiple certifications in prenatal and pediatric care, Dr. Whitney provides care that is safe, effective, and adaptable for all ages—from newborns to parents and beyond.

But more than anything, she’s here to listen.

To understand your story.

To support your goals.

And to help you and your family feel more at ease in your bodies.

"A lifetime of chiropractic care, now shared with your family."
